Students in Youth Life Learning Centers participate in structured academic enrichment and one-on-one mentoring after school and six weeks of summer instruction.

  • Academic Support: YLFR LCs are staffed by certified teachers in order to provide quality, individualized instruction and ongoing evaluation of student progress
  • One-on-one Mentoring: Individualized lesson plans are implemented by committed volunteer mentors during LC hours throughout the week, allowing each child to receive personal attention and build trust with a caring adult.
  • Character Development: Students focus on meeting high expectations for their social and behavioral development as they grow into responsible members of their communities.
  • Long-term Commitment: A unique and vital element of the YLFR model is to invest in children from a young age and stick with them through graduation from high school.
