Middle and High School Program
Youth Life @ Night (Middle and High School Program) will begin September 15, 2010. The Delmont Learning Center piloted a middle school program in the 2009- 2010 School Year. After Stephanie Gossett, the executive director, met with the staff this summer she charged the staff to proactively start planning for a full-fledged middle school program in both Delmont and Highland Park. This decision was prompted by Youth Life Foundation of Richmond’s mission to operate Learning Centers that develop leaders by making long-term investments in children from at-risk communities. The program was starting to evolve right in front of our eyes. The executive director learned that at Highland Park alone there were 4 of our youth siblings that were middle school age and 2 rising middle schoolers, but we didn’t have any programming to take care of these youth. Middle school is a critical time and in the fall of 2010 YLFR we will have 10-12 youth participating in this program.
